Acralad (Ac), b. 2005, is an Indonesian-German mixed media artist based in Berlin. His work navigates the interstices between an inherited Eastern consciousness and a learned Western pragmatism, utilizing bold textures to critique contemporary themes. Prioritizing raw expression and emotional immediacy, Ac utilizes bold, abrasive textures and frugal matter to manifest the internal conflict of assimilation and critique the invisible borders that define social inclusion.
Currently, Ac operates between two distinct disciplines: maintaining an active artistic practice while navigating his first year of architectural studies at the Universität der Künste (UdK) Berlin. While his academic focus is on structure, his art remains a visceral, autonomous outlet for personal and inter-cultural exploration.
